Deputy permanent secretary for transport Peraphon Thawornsupacharoen said the Commission for the Management of Road Traffic had ordered City Hall to effect the payment. The sum is for land ownership transfer costs and fees the MRTA had paid to those affected by the project's construction. The BMA expects the Green Line will help ease traffic problems in Bangna and in Samut Prakan province. The extension project is estimated to cost around 21.4 billion baht, Mr Peraphon said. Of this amount, around 17.5 billion baht is for long-term loans while around 3.5 billion baht is for land ownership transfer costs and fees.
